Cappadocia University Student Rights and Responsibilities
“Student Rights and Responsibilities” aims to contribute to the academic, social, and cultural development of Cappadocia University students, ensuring fair treatment of individual differences and fostering a high-quality educational and research environment.
These Rights and Responsibilities have been prepared within the framework of fundamental rights and university regulations with the purpose of encouraging Cappadocia University students to become individuals who are environmentally conscious and aware of their social rights and responsibilities.
Student Rights and Responsibilities
Rights:
1. The right to fair and equal treatment throughout the educational process: Ensuring that every student has equal opportunities and is not subjected to discrimination.
2. The right to access information and necessary resources as a student: Ensuring that students can obtain the information and materials they need to succeed in their courses.
3. The right to academic freedom and freedom of expression: Allowing students to freely express their thoughts and conduct academic research without restriction.
4. The right to a safe and supportive learning environment: Ensuring that every student studies in a secure atmosphere with the necessary academic support.
5. The right to fair access to university services and resources: Guaranteeing equal access to services and facilities provided by the university.
6. The right to participation through the student union or student representatives: Allowing students to have a voice in university matters and elect their own representatives.
7. The right to personal privacy and data protection: Ensuring the safeguarding and confidentiality of students’ personal information and data.
8. The right to appropriate and effective student counselling and support services: Ensuring that students have easy access to the guidance and support services they need.
9. The right to fair treatment during disciplinary procedures: Ensuring fairness and the protection of students’ right to defence in all disciplinary processes.
10. The right to live in a safe and healthy environment as a student: Affirming every student’s right to a secure and healthy living environment.
Responsibilities
1. To comply with the university’s academic rules and standards: Ensuring that every student adheres to the regulations set by the university.
2. To participate in the educational process and attend classes on time: Ensuring regular and punctual attendance in courses.
3. To respect the principles of academic integrity and avoid any form of cheating, plagiarism, or copyright infringement: Ensuring honesty in academic work and avoiding fraudulent behaviour.
4. To act respectfully and cooperatively towards other students and university staff: Encouraging respectful and harmonious behaviour within the university community.
5. To protect and properly use university property and resources: Ensuring the responsible use and preservation of university facilities and materials.
6. To provide accurate and up-to-date personal information: Ensuring that students keep their personal details current and correct.
7. To actively participate in university life as a member of the student community: Encouraging active involvement in the social and academic activities of the university.
8. To take necessary precautions regarding safety and health and comply with university policies: Ensuring that students follow safety and health rules and adhere to institutional policies.
9. To comply with disciplinary procedures and provide necessary information and documents: Ensuring cooperation with disciplinary processes and fulfilling relevant requirements.
10. To promote and support the well-being and diversity of the university community: Encouraging students to contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and supportive university environment.
