The Accessible KÜN Unit was established to ensure that all of our students have unrestricted and equitable access to the academic programs conducted by our university, as well as to all services and opportunities related to higher education.

The fundamental working principle of this unit is to identify the “barriers” that prevent students from continuing their academic lives effectively and equally, and to eliminate these barriers by ensuring a campus environment that supports students’ academic, professional, social, and personal development. The services provided by the unit can be summarized as follows:

• Equal access to academic programs,
• Priority in accommodation needs,
• Equal participation in higher education life,
• Priority in receiving scholarships through the Scholarship Committee,
• Priority in obtaining part-time employment through the Part-Time Employment Committee,
• Arrangements that facilitate access to buildings, administrative and service units, classrooms, and laboratories,
• Course and exam location changes when needed,
• Facilitation of student registration procedures and student affairs services upon request,
• Raising awareness about disability within the scope of higher education.

You may submit your request directly—verbally or in writing—to the Accessible KÜN Unit, your program advisor, student representatives, or student council members. You may also submit your request by completing the “Student Disability Information Sharing Form”.

All modifications to be made in the historical buildings located on our Cappadocia Campus are subject to the Law on the Protection of Cultural and Natural Assets and must be approved by the relevant board. The Accessible KÜN Unit develops alternative solutions for requests that cannot be approved by the relevant authority.
